What’s Coming: 38 New Franklin Path Projects

May 12, 2025

The Franklin Paths Programme will deliver 38 new and upgraded paths, crossings, and walkways over the next 10 years — fully funded by a targeted rate of $1 per week.

Phase 1 projects include:

  • Safer crossings at Reynolds Rd, West St, and Pukekohe Station
  • New paths at Shelly Bay Rd, Liberty Park, and Clevedon Scenic Reserve
  • Coastal trails in Clarks Beach and Sandspit Reserve

The programme aims to improve safety, reduce car reliance, and support walking in growing Franklin communities.

This 10-year community-backed initiative will bring 38 new and improved paths, crossings, and walkways to the region. It’s fully funded by a targeted rate of just $1 per week per ratepayer.

“This is an investment in the future of Franklin,” says Local Board Chair Angela Fulljames. “As our once-rural community grows, so must our infrastructure — and safe, accessible paths are a big part of that.”
