Project:
Location:
Clevedon Scenic Reserve Path – Te Nikau Pā
The project remains in the investigation phase, progressing carefully due to the sensitive environment and limited space available for the proposed connection. The project team is working closely with local iwi, community representatives, stakeholders, and nearby private landowners to determine the most appropriate and culturally respectful solution.
What Is Happening?
- We are exploring options for a safe and formal walking connection between Clevedon Scenic Reserve and the Clevedon North boardwalk and path.
- This work includes assessing environmental constraints, cultural considerations, land ownership boundaries, and the physical space available for a path.
Current Stage
- Engagement with local iwi, community leaders, and affected landowners is underway.
- This collaboration will help determine the preferred treatment, alignment, and design approach.
- Due to the complexity of the site, progress is steady but necessarily slow to ensure the right outcome.
- Further updates and photos will be added as the project advances.
Why It Matters
- Provide a safe and formal connection from Clevedon Scenic Reserve to Clevedon North boardwalk and path.
